Anna Mae "Ann" Stoor

Crystal Falls. Anna Mae "Ann" Stoor, 91 of Crystal Falls, passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at the Iron County Medical Care Facility in Crystal Falls. She was born on July 29, 1923 in Crystal Falls, daughter of the late John and Zella (Battan) Manfron. She was a lifelong resident of Crystal Falls. She attended school in Crystal Falls, graduating from Crystal Falls High School in 1941. She married Woodrow Stoor on December 1, 1945 in Crystal Falls, and he preceded her in death in 1978. Ann was a member of the Guardian Angels Catholic Church where she was a member of the Ladies Guild. She enjoyed playing cards and was an avid Bridge player who belonged to various bridge clubs. She enjoyed music and for many years had been a member of the Crystal Falls Musical. When her sons were young, she served as a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts. She had also been a member of the Women's Golf Club where she enjoyed time spent golfing and visiting with friends. She served on the Crystal Falls Community Library Board and the Iron County Election Board. More than anything she loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. She spent many enjoyable hours playing cards with her grandchildren and serving them homemade sour cream twists, a house specialty. Ann is survived by her sons, James (Susan) Stoor of Surprise, AZ, Larry (Mary Kay) Stoor of Westmont, IL; daughters Jody (Tom) McCormick of Wausau, WI, Susan (Michael) Schiavo of Crystal Falls; a sister in-law, Eloise Manfron of Iron River; 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Ann was preceded in death by a son, Don Stoor and his wife, Susie, and a brother, Lester Manfron and a sister, Flora Manfron. The Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Crystal Falls. Fr. Raymond Valerio will offer the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in the Evregreen Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to the Crystal Falls Community Library.
