Joyce A. Dahl

Joyce A. Dahl, 86, of Crystal Falls, passed away on Thursday, July 31st at the Iron County Medical Care Facility in Crystal Falls. Joyce was born on October 14, 1927 at the family home on Stager Lake in Mastodon Twp. She was the daughter of the late Wesley and Delma (Holmes) Story-McCue and has been a longtime resident of the Crystal Falls area. Joyce graduated from Alpha High School in 1947. She married Roy R. Dahl on August 20, 1947 at the Methodist Church in Alpha. Roy preceded her in death on February 18, 2010. Joyce was an active member of Christ United Methodist Church and the Deborah Circle of the church. She was also a communion server and Sunday school teacher at the church for 30 years. She was an active member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post #2891. Joyce went back to school and attended the Iron County Community Schools Nurse's Aide program. After graduating as a nurse's aide, she worked at the Crystal Falls Hospital from 1984-1990. In addition to her parents and husband, Joyce was preceded in death by a brother, Wesley Story and a sister Isabelle Finnicum. She is survived by her children, David (Sue) Dahl of Janesville, WI, Sandra (James) Miller of Grand Haven, MI, John (Robin) Dahl of Cedar Springs, MI and Susan (John) Jacobson of Crystal Falls; a brother, Lawrence (Alberta) Story of Exeland, WI; her sister, Mary Ann Lubow of Denver, CO; grandchildren, Charles (Carrie) Dahl, Jon (Tanya) Dahl, Jeremy (Jessica) Dahl, Scott Miller, Amy (Tim) Zelenka, Katherine (Brian) Marceau, Gust Dahl, Matthew (Alecia) Dahl, Wesley Dahl, Jessica (Brian) Perry and Jake Jacobson; nine great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 5th from 10:00 to 11:00am at Christ United Methodist Church in Crystal Falls. Funeral services will be follow at 11:00am on Tuesday at the church. Rev. Nathan Reed will officiate. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Crystal Falls. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in her memory.
