Katherine Anne Griesser

Katherine Anne Griesser, 87, of Crystal Falls, MI, passed away peacefully August 6th, 2021, at the Iron County Medical Care Facility. Kay was born in Stambaugh, MI, to Earl and Clara Frechette in 1934. She graduated from Kingsford High School in Kingsford, MI, earned her Bachelors in Science from Wesley Memorial Hospital in Chicago, Illinois and grew to become a dedicated Registered Nurse. She married William Griesser in 1955 and had three beautiful children together. Although life had different roads for them they remained kind and caring to one another.William preceded her in death February 2007. In 1979 Kay was yet blessed again to have met her loving companion of over 30 years, a wonderful man Richard Pulak from Palatine Illinois, who also preceded her in death in September 2008. Kay was an amazing woman who was dedicated to family and helping in her community. She worked with Lutheran Family Services through her church, was on the Alumni Board of Directors at Wesley Memorial Hospital, sang in her church choir, and was involved in the Women’s Society. She enjoyed sewing, playing cribbage, and crocheting blankets for her family. Kay was always known for having a quirky and sunny attitude about life. She would always talk about how she had been so lucky to have such a beautiful, successful family and a life worth living. Through sickness and the hard times, to the best moments of her life she always came around with a smile. She was a person who accepted and loved everyone around her and encouraged people to always reach for the stars. Many will miss her vibrant personality and her unwavering faith in God. She is survived by her three children, William (Christy) Griesser, Katherine (Tony Thacker) Griesser, and Adrienne Stachowicz (Fredrick Doerr); her grandchildren, Andrew (Devyn) Griesser, Lynn (Christopher) Ruark, Annie (Ryan )Schollmeier, Lauren Thacker, Nathan Zaremba, Stephanie Zaremba, Nickolas Stachowicz, Charlotte Crow, and Emily Partanen; as well as eight great-grandchildren; her brother, John (Mary) Frechette; sister, Jane Johnson; and many nieces and nephews will miss her dearly. Kay was preceded in death by her parents Earl (Clara) Frechette and Nephew Donny Johnson. Private family services will be held. In lieu of flowers we ask that you consider donating to the National Organization for Rare Disorders (NORD) in her name. The family has entrusted the Nash Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Crystal Falls with arrangements.
