Katherine Jones Obituary Katherine (Katie) Jones, 94, of Sagola died Saturday, 12/8/12 at the Iron County Medical Care Facility in Crystal Falls. Ms. Jones was born March 4, 1918 in Cicero, IL, the daughter of late Francis and Elizabeth (Getautis) Navickas. She lived in the area most of her life, and married Perry Jones on October 28, 1933. He preceded her in death in 1993. Ms. Jones was devoted to raising children and found great joy and comfort in being surrounded by her family. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother having the patience and compassion and a love that never ended for her family. She enjoyed working puzzles and her family warmly called her the "puzzle queen". She leaves her son, DuWayne (Carol deceased) Jones of Wyoming, MN, and her grandson she raised, Donald Rihtarshick of Sagola, and her daughters, Carolyn (Paul) Duncan of Milwaukee, WI, Darleen (George deceased) Farrell, of Crystal Falls, Patsy (Doug) Flatka of Iron Mountain, Geraldine (Dennis) Contois of Marquette, and the granddaughter she raised, Ann Marie (Bob) Shandley of Maple Grove, MN. She also leaves her grandchildren, Perry Farrell, Todd (Joan) Farrell and Rocky (deceased) Farrell, Wanda (Gary) Gendron, Rhonda (Bob) Burton, Kim DeClark, Jeff Flatka, Debbie (Mark) Thompson, Dawn (Terry) Knyphusen, Juanita Duncan, Candia (John) Maholic, Shawn (Cassie) Contois and Stas (Eric) Daniels and her great grandchildren, Caroline, Abbey, India, Sierra, Travis, Dakota, Montana, Carlee, Ryan, Danielle, Christopher, Randi, Zeth, Cole, Morgan, Tyler, Zoe, and Andre and great-great grandchildren, Brad, Steven, Grace and Afton. She was preceded in death by four brothers; four sisters and her daughter, Jeanette Jones in 1937. The Celebration of the Life of Katherine Jones will be held on Friday, 12/28/12 at the Nash Funeral Home in Crystal Falls. Visitation will be from 10:30 am to 11:30 am, with services following at 11:30 am. Father Jeffrey Kurtz will officiate.
