Kathleen Marie Byczek

Kathleen Marie (Brin) Byczek, born February 13, 1959, went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on September 2, 2024. Kathy enjoyed serving people through her work in life. Kathy was a loving mother, a true friend, and a lady ready to help anyone in need. Kathy worked as a courier for Lancer, an EMT with Beacon Ambulance, a volunteer firefighter with Breitung Township, a medical equipment and billing technician with The Drug Store, and in her younger years, in the restaurant business serving food to others which she loved to do her entire life. Kathy decided to retire in June this year and do housekeeping for her lady friends which was more of a social event with each one. Kathy would get lost in reading her novels of mystery and intrigue, or in the Hallmark Movies channel, and she could get as giddie as a little girl when she surprised people with her gifts out of the blue for no reason – just because she was thinking of them. Kathy was a proud member of ‘The GTO Club’ (a place of sanctuary from the barlife) with dear friends to this day, Dale Freeman and Aaron Harper (Jr.) among others in the club. Kathy leaves behind many more loved aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, friends, fellowships, and acquaintances throughout the Langsford and Wender families as well as the Byczek, Saxon, Sorby, Rucinski, Petroski, and Andre families. She will miss all of us – she loved everyone so much. Kathy is survived by her husband, Robert F. Byczek, Jr.; children, Andrew Brin (Stacie), Rachel Allen, and Hannah Byczek (RJ Larnier, Jr.); step daughter, Adena (Byczek) Hinz (Eric Hinz); grandchildren, Rhiannon (Andrew Brin), Lillian Allen (Rachel Allen), and Adonis King Lanier (Hannah Byczek & RJ Lanier); sister, Kelly (Brin) Sjoquist; sisters in law, Debra Caradonna and Laura Brin; brothers-in-law, Luis Caradonna, Richard Johnson (Cheryl) and Kris Byczek (Mona); nieces, Heatherjo Patterson (Kelly [Brin] Sjoquist), Heidi Sjoquist (Kelly [Brin] Sjoquist), Amanda Brin (Laura Brin), Nina Kacir (Debra & Luis Caradonna), Jessalynn Oleksy (Debra & Luis Caradonna), Amy (Adam) Johnson (Richard & Terri Ann Johnson), Niki Buss (Cory Johnson); nephew, Cory Johnson (Richard & Terri Ann Johnson); grand nieces, Michelle Johnson (Niki Buss & Cory Johnson), Brooke Johnson (Niki Buss & Cory Johnson), Trinity Kacir (Nina Kacir), Victoria Kacir (Nina Kacir), Jadeyn Kacir (Nina Kacir), Leah Oleksy (Jessalynn & Samuel Oleksy), Bella Oleksy (Jessalynn & Samuel Oleksy), Gianna Oleksy (Jessalynnn & Samuel Oleksy); and grand nephew, Dominic Johnson (Niki & Cory Johnson) She was preceded in death by her parents, Willard and Edith (Langsford) Brin; in-laws, Robert Sr. and Virginia (Saxon) Byczek; sister, Terri Ann Brin; brother, Joseph Brin; and sister-in-law, Terri Ann (Byczek) Johnson A celebration of life will be held at St. Agnes Church, 702 North Fourth Ave., Iron River, MI 49935 on Tuesday, September 10, 2024. Services will be at 3pm with a luncheon to follow in the Fellowship Hall.
