Adam J. Hilberg 22, of Crystal Falls, passed away following a boating accident on Saturday June 8, 2019. Adam was born May 29, 1997 in Marquette, MI. He has been a resident of Crystal Falls his entire life and was a graduate of Forest Park High School class of 2016. While in high school, Adam was an outstanding football and basketball player. He played varsity football all four years and was named to play on the U.P. Allstars team. Adam was a hard worker and over the years was employed at Fortune Lake Lutheran Camp, Crystal Bait and Green Cliff Lawn Service. He completed the corrections program at Bay De Noc College and then attended the New Corrections Officers Training Academy. Adam was employed as a corrections officer for the Baraga Prison and had recently transferred to the Marquette Prison. He loved to play all kinds of sports. He was also an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, snowmobiling and just hanging out with friends around a campfire. Adam is survived by his parents, George and Patty Hilberg; his brother and sister, Chris and Anna Hilberg; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends. Visitation will be on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at the Fortune Lake Lutheran Camp from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon. Memorial services will follow at 12:00 noon at the Fortune Lake Lutheran Camp. Pastor D.J Rasner will officiate. A luncheon will follow the memorial service at the Fortune Lake Bible Camp Dining Hall. In lieu of Flowers, a scholarship fund will be established in Adam’s memory at CoVantage Credit Union in Crystal Falls.
