Eugene William McGregor

June 27, 1933 - January 15, 2022

Eugene "Mac" William McGregor, 88, of Crystal Falls passed away Saturday, January 15, 2022. Eugene was born June 27, 1933, in Crystal Falls, the son of Joseph and Lillian (Macki) McGregor. After graduating from Crystal Falls High School in 1951, he immediately joined the U.S. Navy, serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a miner for the MA Hanna Company, retiring when the Groveland Mine closed, and he ran his own excavating business for over 40 years. Eugene also served on the Crystal Falls Township Board and was a member of the V.F.W. and the Legion. He is survived by his daughters, Cindy (Axel) Anderson and Lori (Jim) Berg; a step-daughter, Patty Dooley (Al Reed); his grandchildren, Dena (Chris) Bellini, Brad (Jodie) Rintala, David (Danielle) Rintala, Josh Anderson (Kelly Hoffman) and Kelle (Nick) Clements; a step-granddaughter, Jenny (Brian) Hurkmans; ten great-grandchildren; a brother, Jim McGregor; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Along with his parents, Joe and Lil McGregor, and his wife, Mert, Eugene was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Joni; a brother, Norman McGregor; a nephew, James McGregor and a step-daughter, Becky Thoreson. Visitation will be 11:00 am - 1:00 pm on Friday, January 21, 2022 at the Nash Funeral Home in Crystal Falls. The Eastside Veterans Council will do a pass and review at 12:45 pm and funeral services will follow at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Pastor Vicky Prewitt will officiate and graveside services will be held at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in the spring.
