Frances V. Lepisto, 93 of Dunn Mine Location, passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at Marquette General Hospital. She was born on December 27, 1921 in Crystal Falls, daughter of the late Joseph and Frances (Sabella) Skibo. She attended school in Alpha, graduating from Alpha High School in 1939. Fran was a lifelong resident of the area. She married Everett "Topper" Lepisto on May22, 1943 at St. Edward's Catholic Church in Alpha, and he preceded her in death on February 13, 1975 after nearly 32 wonderful years together. She worked at the Ben Franklin Store and the Falls Clinic for many years. Fran was a member of St. Edward's Catholic Church for many years, and currently a member of Guardian Angels Catholic Church. She was active in, and served as Vice President of the Alpha Senior Center. She was very involved in the local Variety Shows throughout the years. Fran loved volunteering locally at the Iron County Medical Care Facility and St. Vincent DePaul. She was a former school board member. She loved singing, dancing, and playing cards, especially cribbage. She was an avid sports fan, and especially loved following local basketball games through the years. On any given day you could find some sporting event on the TV at her home. Frances is survived by her children, Sharon (Edward) Spiecker of Romeoville, Illinois, Ron (Jean) Lepisto of Kiel, Wisconsin, and Earl (Patricia) Lepisto of Wallace, Michigan; grandchildren, Ken (Chrissy) Spiecker, Christine Spiecker, Debbie (Jason) Barrett, Steve (Heather) Lepisto, David (Maria) Lepisto, Michael (Karen) Lepisto, Travis Lepisto, and Chad (Amber) Lepisto; 15 great grandchildren; siblings, Irene (Bob) Zuponek, Adolph (Margaret) Skibo, Eugene Skibo, and Adelaide (Jim) Arnold; she is further survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by infant twin sons; sisters and brothers, Helen, Mary, Lillian, Joanne, Joseph, and Edmond. The visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at the Nash Funeral Home in Crystal Falls. The funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 am at the Guardian Angels Catholic Church. Fr. Raymond Valerio will offer the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Crystal Falls. In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established in her memory. Condolences may be expressed to the family of Frances V.
