George Weith

May 3, 1954 - May 10, 2022

George Weith, 68, of Amasa, passed away on May 10, 2022, at Marshfield Medical Center in Wisconsin after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on May 3, 1954, in Des Plaines, IL, son of the late Clarence and Evelyn (Stade) Weith. He worked in the alarm service industry for 40 plus years, excelling at his career and being recognized yearly with the Club Excellence Eagle Award. He retired in 2014 to his dream log cabin in the woods where he enjoyed hunting with his family and friends. He was an avid fisherman who received so much joy sharing that passion with others. He also loved NHRA Drag Racing – a fondness he shared with his brothers from their earlier years racing on the track. We were all very blessed to call him husband, Dad, Grandpa, father-in-law, brother, uncle, or friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. George is survived by his wife of 40 years, Cynthia (Passmore); his daughter and son-in-law, Jessica (Steve) Vargas; granddaughters, Nytiri and Kamryn Vargas; brothers, Jim (Jan) Weith and Jack (Betty) Weith; sister, Judy (Wayne) Wagner; and half-sister, Georgia Clare Baldwin. George is preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Weith. A celebration of life gathering will be held Saturday, May 21, 2022, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Meadowland Church, 4815 N. Johnsburg Road, Johnsburg, IL 60051, with a service immediately to follow at 7:00 with Pastor Stephen Erickson officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wildlife Unlimited, Inc. of Iron County, PO Box 486, Iron River, MI 49935, please write in memo “In memory of George Weith”. Condolences to the family of George Weith may be expressed online at www.nashfuneralhome.net. The family has entrusted Nash Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Crystal Falls with the arrangements.
