Helen M. Broswavic, 89, of Crystal Falls, Tobin location, died Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010 at the Northstar Health System in Iron River. She was born March 25, 1921 in Crystal Falls, daughter of the late John and Victoria (Wolak) Rosa.Helen graduated from the Crystal Falls High School in 1939 and was a lifelong resident of the area. She married Walter Broswavic on Nov. 9, 1946 at Guardian Angel s Church in Crystal Falls. He preceded her in death on Oct. 20, 1981.Helen was a clerk at the Red Owl grocery store for many years.She was a member of Guardian Angels Church and she volunteered at St. Vincent De Paul store. Helen enjoyed helping others and was always happy to do so. She enjoyed cooking and gardening, and loved animals, especially her cat Sam.Helen was always on the go and liked to visit her friends. Helen is survived by her son, Dennis Broswavic (Ruth Palm) of Crystal Falls; one grandson, Cori Broswavic of Indianapolis; one sister-in-law, Helen Rosa of Crystal Falls; several nieces and nephews, Jeanette Sliva of Crystal Falls, Laura Slawner of Oak Creek, Wis., Raymond (Gloria) Plank of Crystal Falls, Fr. Tom Rosa of Bellvidere, Ill., John Rosa of Marquette, Mike Rosa of Minneapolis, and Lewis Rosa of Wausau, Wis. She was preceded in death by five brothers, Alec, Lewis, Lawrence, Zigmond, and Walter Rosa, and two sisters, Dorothy Plank, and Mary Ponozzo. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 14, at the Nash Funeral Home in Crystal Falls. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. at the Guardian Angels Church. Fr. Jeffery Kurtz will offer the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Crystal Falls. Condolences to the family of Helen M.
