CRYSTAL FALLS - Ray C. Hendershott, 52, of 716 Erie St. in Crystal Falls, died peacefully on Sunday, April 19, 2009, at his home. He was born Nov. 29, 1956, in Flint, Mich., son of Ray and Rhea (Brooks) Hendershott. Ray was raised in the Flint area and moved to Crystal Falls with his parents in 1971. He attended his last year of high school at Forest Park. Ray was disabled for most of his adult life due to a car accident. He was best known for coordinating the casino bus trips for Pellegrini tours and James Transit. Ray was a good cook and especially liked to bake. He enjoyed his many trips to the casino, and in his younger years he loved to hunt and fish. He is survived by one son, Ryan J. Hendershott; his parents, Ray and Rhea Hendershott of Crystal Falls; two sisters, Robin (James) Upperstrom of Delevan, Wis. and Roxann (Henry) Perry of Crystal Falls; two nieces and three nephews, Cory and Craig Upperstrom and Justin, Kelsey, and Haley Perry. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Thursday at the United Lutheran Church in Crystal Falls. Memorial services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at the church. Rev. Michael Laakko will officiate.
