Savannah Joy Marcell, 20 of Crystal Falls, passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2017. She was born on December 4, 1996, daughter of Melissa Marcell and David R. Sandy, III. She attended Forest Park High School. Savannah enjoyed everything outdoors, from hiking, canoeing, kayaking, to hunting and fishing. She especially loved reading her books. More than anything she loved to both attend as a camper and volunteer at the Lake Ellen Bible Camp. Some of the many things she did at the camp were working as a Life Guard, hauling and stacking firewood, and all around general camp duties. She was employed at Northern Lights YMCA in Iron Mountain as a Lifeguard; a 7 year member and Youth Leader and Instructor in the Iron County 4-H Sharpshooters as well as Iron County 4-H Compass & Crosshairs. She took great pleasure as a Midshipman of the United States Naval Sea Cadet Corps, Darter-Dace Division; Ishpeming; sculpting the minds of the youth as they achieved great success and knowledge of Naval Operations, Trainings, and Community Service. She was a volunteer with the U.P E.M.S. Convention doing Water Safety Wilderness extractions, and any other area she could help in. With all her years being a member of the 4-H Sharp Shooters, she was a major advocate of Gun Safety. Savannah is survived by her Mother, Melissa Marcell (Jeff Anderson); her son, Russell Patrick Marcell-Schuett; her Father, David (Renee) Sandy III; Brothers, Joshua and David Sandy IV, and Joey; sister, Samantha Sandy; her significant other, Ronald Egeler; Aunt and Godmother, Rachel (Richard) Fricker; Uncle Keegan Carlston; Uncle Alex (Andrea) Carlston; Aunt, Michelle (Scott) Diggs; Uncle Christopher (Beth) Patton; grandparents, Ellen Bauer, Jeannie Royer, Barbara Anderson, and Annabelle Marcell; Godfather, Jeff (Heather) Nemiro; her second family, Krista (David) Schindler and Hillary Hoffman; very close friends, Adina Sartorelli, Kira Robbins, Rhya Skzyniarz, Christopher Sartorelli; Allysa Paakola; and Sean Roe She was preceded in death by her Dad, Russell Marcell; Grandpa Gordon Bauer, Grandpa Thomas Marcell, Grandpa David Sandy II; Grandpa Gerald Tate; Aunt Krista Bauer; Uncle Gerald Bauer The visitation will be held on Thursday, March 30, 2017 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at the Lake Ellen Bible Camp in Crystal Falls. The Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 am at the camp. Pastor Joe Basso will officiate.
