Sharon Irene Smith Hoffmann, age 84, died Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at Mission Point Nursing Home in Ishpeming, Michigan. Born in Deep River, Iowa, Sharon was a long-time resident of Beloit, Wisconsin moving there in 1966. She then moved to Iron River, Michigan, in 2017 to be closer to her family. She worked as a CNA at a nursing home in Beloit. She returned to school at the age of 54 and obtained her GED. She went on to obtain her degree as a licensed practical nurse at the age of 58. Sharon worked as an LPN until retiring at the age of 72. She enjoyed dancing, music and visiting friends and family. Sharon played piano and was also a very talented sketch artist who loved fashion. In her later years, Sharon especially loved her cat Smudgy who was her faithful companion. Surviving are her children, Debra (David) Kiefat of Lakeville, MN, Michael Hoffmann of Georgia, Pamela (Michael) Kritz of Crystal Falls, MI, Donald (Jane) Hoffmann of Apple Valley, MN, and Susan Jorgensen of Lebanon, OR, 11 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren, as well as her siblings, William Stanley (Barbara) Smith of Seacaucus, NJ, Kathleen Pustarfi of New York City, NY, Alice Campbell of Luther, MI, Phillip (Linda) Smith of Belton, TX, Thomas Smith of Moreno Valley, CA, and Faye Bates of Santa Fe, NM, along with many nieces and nephews. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents William and Emma Smith, her husband, Eugene Hoffmann in 2010, her sister Barbara Heck and brother Carroll Schmidt.
