Dennis "Ladder" Fabbri

Dennis “Ladder” Fabbri 65, of Crystal Falls, passed away on April 11th at his home with his family and friends at his side. Dennis was born August 14th 1950 , son of the late Bay and Rose (Dal Lago) Fabbri. He was a lifelong resident of Crystal Falls and graduated from Crystal Falls High School in 1968. He earned a Bachelors of Science Degree from Northern Michigan University. He was married to Cindy “Sophie” Simbob April 16th 1977 at Guardian Angels Parish in Crystal Falls. Dennis worked for the City of Crystal Falls Public Works department before retiring as the Public Works foreman in June of 2006. He was a volunteer firefighter with the Crystal Falls Fire Department for 21 years. Dennis was a Michigan High School Athletic Association football and volleyball referee for many years. He loved spending time fishing and especially bird hunting with his dogs. Dennis is survived by his wife Cindy “Sophie” Fabbri; two children, Christopher (Laurie) Fabbri of Escanaba, and Kristi (Brent) Hawley of Flat Rock, Michigan; three grandchildren, Madeline Mae and Ethan Julius Fabbri, and Kaitlyn Rose Hawley; his sister Patricia (Jim) Flack of Bonita Springs, Florida; his father in law and mother in law, Julius “Hop” and Rosemary Simbob of Crystal Falls; brother in law and sister in law, Steve (Diane) Simbob of Crystal Falls and Marlis (Jeff) Bickel of Brookfield, Wisconsin, cousin John (Brenda) DeAmicis of Iron Mountain; nephews Ryan (Kim) Flack, Nick (Jenna) Simbob, Jeffrey Bickel, Brenden and Trevor Flack; nieces, Natalie Flack, Natalie Simbob (Aaron Ball), Olivia Ball and Jamie Bickel. Visitation will Friday, April 15, 2016 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Nash Funeral Home of Crystal Falls. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2016, 11:00 am at Guardian Angels Church in Crystal Falls. Fr. Jose Maramattam will offer the Mass of Christian Burial. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Iron County Cancer Unit, 1020 N. 7th Ave. Iron River, MI 49935.
