Jamie M. Janov

Jamie M. Janov 95, of Crystal Falls, passed away on February 4, 2019 at Iron County Medical Care Facility in Crystal Falls. Jamie was born February 12, 1923 in Crystal Falls, daughter of the late Louis and Aurelia (Bianchi) Collicelli. She was a 1942 graduate of Crystal Falls High School and following graduation went to work at Bendicks Aviation in Wayne Michigan. In 1944 Jamie went to cosmetology school and graduated in 1945. She returned to Crystal Falls and worked for Laura Richards at Laura’s Beauty Shop. In 1951, she opened her own beauty shop in her home and continued to work for sixty years. Jamie married Joseph “Red” Janov on September 4, 1948 at Guardian Angels Church in Crystal Falls and they had 54 wonderful years together. Red preceded her in death on November 4, 2002. Jamie loved being with people and lending a helpful hand whenever needed. She was a volunteer at the Iron County Medical Care Facility and RSVP. She loved playing golf, dancing, traveling, knitting, shopping and any kind of cards, especially bridge, smear, poker and cribbage. If there was a party to go to, she was always there. She also enjoyed picking mushrooms with her sister, Rena Karnack back in the day. In addition to her parents and husband, Jamie was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Sarvello, Clementine Slade, Rena Karnack and her son in law, Rick Young. She is survived by her daughters, Louise (Bob) Ahola of Crystal Falls, Valerie Young of DePere, WI and Mary Humphrey of DePere, WI. She was Nona to six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. grandchildren, Brian (Kim) Ahola, Mark (Robyn) Ahola, Cori (Jeff) Young, Josh (Tabitha) Humphrey, Jamie (Chris) Humphrey and Tyler Humphrey; great grandchildren, Aubrianna, Conner, Jamison, Michael and Atticus; Also by several special nieces, nephews and wonderful friends. Private funeral mass was held a Guardian Angels Church in Crystal Falls. Fr. Daniel Malone offered the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
